The (un)Official Constitution
The official Mike Ditka Street Crew consitution cannot be published in its glorious entirety here for a number of reasons. (One of those reasons being that none of us ever came up with an official consitution because we were all too busy working or drinking.) What appears here is one popular rendition of the MDSC mission statement. We cannot confirm nor deny the validity of the following copy. I. Preamble We, the assembled, un-assembled and disheveled members of Mike Ditka Street Crew have joined forces for the purposes of friendship, drinking booze, supporting the Chicago Fire and causing general mayhem wherever we may find ourselves. The driving ideology behind MDSC was initially shaped by three earlier forms of thought. 3. The Fundamental Principles of "Hulkamania"
II. The Founding Charter The Mike Ditka Street Crew has been formed this day of the Lord as a sign of solidarity with the City of Chicago, the Greatest Coach Who Ever Lived, and the heroes among us who support freedom, justice and liberty. We make no further promises and adhere to no principles. But if we did want to adhere to some principles they would be as follows: Hear ye that be gathered now! Be it resolved, 1. MDSC will always support the City of Chicago over all other cities and foreign lands. 2. MDSC loves freedom and America more than you. We believe consuming fine brews, launching great fireworks, listening to the best rock 'n' roll, and grilling the choicest red meats are among the best ways to celebrate the freedom we have. 3. MDSC will always faithfully support the Chicago Fire soccer team, 'Da Bears, the Bulls and the White Sox... and (with some uproar and controversy) the Northsiders 4. MDSC belives in the time honored tradition of pillaging and plundering. We support all members and allies in this endeavour. We also encourage the consumption of more fine alcoholic beverages while conducting any raids, attacks or ninja assaults. 5. MDSC supports the pursuit of education and the achievement of cultural knowledge. We prefer this knowledge be attained through first-hand experiences or via educational opportunities presented by the History Channel. We may accept those who would rather "book learn." Our support will be determined on a case by case basis. 6. MDSC is generally in favor of good humor. 7. MDSC is also generally in favor of those who laugh hard and hit even harder. 8. No sporting match, No plan to become more culturally refined, and No members of the fairer sex should stand in the way of supporting the great City of Chicago, supporting our friends and supporting our fellow MDSC members.
